These visas will permit a person to stay and work for a period of 12 months, you may not work for any one employer for a period longer than a 3 month period, but the visa can possibly be extended for longer stay. Besides finding a job while on a holiday work visa individuals are required to file taxes and will need a TFN Number, and this takes approximately two weeks for a processing. Online applications can be filed which can speed the process, and if a TFN is not received before a work assignment an individual has 28 days to provide the TFN to an employer. It is important when your job assignment has ended to request a payment summary showing that lists  total income,  and any tax withheld, this will be very important when  it comes time to fill in as the compulsory tax return.

Close to 100,000 people take advantage of the Australian working holiday program every year.  Individuals who have a working holiday visa are permitted temporary work assignments in fields such as hospitality, tourism, field work, fruit picking, construction jobs, office and more see list below.
